end of my street/kyle, consider yourself updated

so...the top two are incredible sunsets from this past winter. this is 100 feet from my front door. the second one was taken with my cell phone. the third is the same area but straight ahead. and the last is the whole area in the daytime, from the end of my yard, which is on the right.
this is Ada. breaking hearts at 2 years old.

mako shark

Mako shark from last fall. Commercial fisherman (who is related to my aunt in columbus and her brother that lives upstairs from me) caught this on his way back in from fishing.

neighborhood critters

Sparky
Surf Kitty
Stan
all from my 'hood

things i've seen here

I took some photos of my friend's little boy in Charlotte a few months back. He's pretty cute. My other friend was there with her dog. He was a pretty good sport...

before i moved

These were both taken when I visited here, about six months before the move. The sunset is in Fort Fisher - about 20 miles from here. The sand is the south end of Wrightsville Beach on a very windy day - about 1 mile from here.

saturday

saturday morning, we were feeling effects of a hurricane i can't even remember the name of now. (thankfully it was hundreds of miles away. maybe other hurricanes will take this same route.) i took my cereal and my camera out to the beach, and this is what i saw. this, and hundreds of other surfers. i don't think the waves were as big as everyone thought they would be, but they were bigger than normal.

then, the sky cleared. this is from kayaking saturday afternoon. beautiful marshes so close to where i live. i put the kayak in across the street from my house, paddle for 10 minutes, and this is what i see.
bought a fishing pole. caught some fish. a flounder, and two fish i could not identify. everything went back in the drink, including the three oysters i caught. not sure why/how that happened....

and then there's the garden spiders. these are two different ones at my friend's house just behind mine. yes, that one caught a cicada. not sure what she did with it, but it was gone by the next morning. they are cool - and everywhere here.
